Suppressing insurrections were the job of a well-regulated militia as provided for in Article 1 Section 8 Article 2 Section 2, and the Second Amendment. Article 1 Section 8 clearly states the Congress shall have power: “To provide for the calling forth of the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions.” The framers of the Constitution were intelligent men and they would not place a contradiction in the Constitution by establishing provisions through Article 1 Section 8 Article 2 Section 2 and the Second Amendment for a militia to execute the laws of the union, “SUPPRESS INSURRECTIONS” and repel invasions…and then place within the Second Amendment a provision “PROMOTING INSURRECTIONS.” Pro-gun facets of society have deceived the American people for years by stating the Second Amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms in order to rise up against a tyrannical government (INSURRECTION) and this is not true…their words undoubtedly support treason. There was an insurrection (Shays’ Rebellion) that prompted the framing of the Constitution of the United States and this insurrection was suppressed by a state militia led by Benjamin Lincoln. James Madison who was a nationalist, proposed 19 amendments of which 10 were accepted by Congress and ratified by the states. The “Whiskey Rebellion” insurrection occurred AFTER the Second Amendment was adopted and this insurrection was suppressed by President George Washington through 12,000 federalized militiamen. President George Washington had the constitutional authority of Article 1 Section 8 Article 2 Section 2 and the Second Amendment when he suppressed the “Whiskey Rebellion” insurrection. Pro-gun facets of society have lied about the Second Amendment for years. The Second Amendment is clearly for the purpose of a well-regulated militia to “EXECUTE THE LAWS OF THE UNION, SUPPRESS INSURRECTIONS, AND REPEL INVASIONS” as written in Article 1 Section 8 and it is not for “PROMOTING INSURRECTIONS” through the belief in an individual right to bear arms for the purpose of rising up against a tyrannical government (INSURRECTION) as stated for years by pro-gun facets of society. A well-regulated militia is called forth to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions and this is the job of a well-regulated militia according to the Constitution. In today’s society who has the job of executing the laws of the union, suppressing insurrections and repelling invasions? It is definitely NOT private citizens. The Second Amendment should be allowed to address what it is clearly intended to address which was and is a well-regulated militia.
